Journeying Together: Developing Indigenous-Serving Study Abroad Opportunities

28 octobre 2024 09:45 - 10:45 C103 (SI)

Discuss, share, and explore ways to design and develop short-term study abroad programs tailored to serve Indigenous students and communities. This session demonstrates how Indigenous-led study abroad opportunities support reconciliation in PSE by challenging the “traditional” way of developing study abroad opportunities. Indigenous-led study abroad opportunities advance relevance for Indigenous students and faculty by supporting the resurgence of Indigenous language, culture, and identity within the context of PSE, and beyond; thereby offering transformative learning experiences while creating environments that set the stage for Indigenous students to share their experiences, reflections, ideas, and ability to really speak their minds.
