This session will provide an overview of The Village Collective Impact Project at Canadore, which has collaborated with 35+ partner organizations to support 12,000+ seniors annually in an effort to reduce inequalities and ensure that older adults are not left behind (SDG 10). The focus, however, will be on an innovative project that demonstrates how technologies like robots and virtual reality can help reduce social isolation and improve well-being (SDG 3) for older adults. It will illustrate how it has been used as a tool to connect students with older adults to provide meaningful interactions and quality education intergenerationally (SDG 4). It will include video to demonstrate how it is integrated and testimonials from participants. As proud signatories to the SDG Accord, it will also demonstrate how this project aligns with our Living Sustainability Plan, which prioritizes community outreach and collaboration as one of four guiding pillars as part of our broader commitment to prioritize the SDGs within our buildings and throughout the broader communities we serve.
