May 1, 2024 10:15 - 11:15 Glen Rm 208-209View map

While many institutions have begun the process of Truth and Reconciliation, there is still much work to be done to meet the Calls to Action and Calls to Justice. Join Lara as she reviews successful strategies to increase Indigenous recruitment, retention, and success and opens dialogue where we can share and ask questions in a safe, inclusive environment with the intent to improve our practices and awareness on this important topic.

Stream: Strengthening Indigenous Education

The right of Indigenous peoples to education is protected by the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples along with other international human rights instruments including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This stream will focus on best practices and solutions to improve the access to higher education and ensure the retention and success of Indigenous learners at colleges and institutes and in the labour market.
