Joint Economic Development Initiatives and the journey

October 28, 2024 11:00 - 12:00 C104 (SI)

JEDI has been doing advanced ICT training since 2012 in partnership with Collège Communautaire du Nouveau Brunswick (CCNB).
We have delivered multiple Mobile Application Development Training programs, multiple Software Tester trainings, a Big Data program, and multiple CyberSecurity Training programs. Graduates of our programs have gained full-time employment with Deloitte, PQA/Plato, CCNB, NB Power, IBM, First Nations Bands/Organizations and other Businesses. Our most recent group of students has completed their paid internship with Deloitte, NB Power, Bulletproof Solutions and Sitansisk First Nations. The paid internship is made possible through the Workplace Integrated Learning program provided by the Information and Communications Technology Council of Canada.

JEDI’s Indigenous Adult Learning & Literacy (IALL) training program helps Indigenous peoples achieve their goals by linking them to opportunities to obtain their GED, master the 9 Workplace Essential Skills, and/or enhance their computer skills. The Indigenous Adult Learning & Literacy Program offers:

  • Career-planning programs,
  • Links to Workplace Essential Skills (WES),
  • Links to GED,
  • Digital Literacy,
  • Personal Cyber Safety,
  • Financial Literacy,
  • Upskills for Work,
  • Customized learning for First Nations communities and Indigenous peoples in New Brunswick,
  • Cultural Awareness.

The Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI) also provides apprenticeship services via a partnership with the Government of New Brunswick.

If selected, we would discuss our programs, how the came about, shortfalls, barriers and successes that we have overcome. Currently, our Advanced IT and trades students are in very high demand.
