Student Success Beyond Academic Measures
Traditional measures of student success often focus on academic performance, such as grades and test scores. However, student success encompasses much more than academic achievements. In this presentation, you will hear stories of how we incorporate our Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing to nurture one’s identity. These elements contribute significantly to a student’s long-term success within their educational environment and nation. By adopting a holistic approach called Anishinaabe Aadziwin, all four quadrants of the medicine wheel are nurtured. This shift requires students to dig into their personal bundle to find innovative programs and support systems that allow for continued personal learning that contributes to building a stronger and brighter future for our nations.
