Dr. Kari Kramp is the Senior Scientific Manager of Applied Research and Innovation at Loyalist College which has secured its place among the Top 50 Research Colleges in Canada for the third consecutive year.
Her transition from Professor, Biosciences to this role was motivated by her passion for innovation and enhancing experiential learning opportunities for students. She is part of a talented team that is focused on collaboration with industry, not-for-profits, and academic partners to facilitate applied research – enhancing access to facilities, advanced equipment, subject-experts and a pipeline of highly trained students to contribute to economic and social innovations in our local communities and across the globe!
Kari completed her BSc (honours) and MSc in Chemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University and, as a mature student she, completed her PhD at the University of Ottawa, Centre for Advanced Research and Environmental Genomics where she investigated the applications of cleantech – specifically supercritical CO2 extraction, to commercially relevant natural products.
She is passionate about collaborations with good people to impact positive change.
