Dr. Ruaidhri Neavyn is currently employed as a Special Advisor to the Higher Education Authority of Ireland tasked with the development and delivery of national, HE policy initiatives. His current activities in HE policy development include HE skills and engagement initiatives, as well as international collaborative networks. Ruaidhri is also the CEO of the Regional University Network European University (RUN-EU); with responsibility for leading the development and roll out of its strategy focussed on delivering future and advanced skills for societal transformation in the EU regions.
Prior to his appointment to the HEA, Ruaidhri served as president of two institutes of technology in Ireland, namely the Waterford Institute of Technology and the Institute of Technology Carlow. During his career he has also served on numerous national and regional development boards and committees including the National Apprenticeship Alliance and the Southeast Regional Authority of Ireland. He acts as an expert advisor for the OECD, EU and HE agencies of European countries participating in numerous national and international reviews. He is the former Chair and a current member of the OECD’s group of national experts on higher education.
